Zombieland Double Tap

Zombieland: Double Tap

Zombieland was a great and funny movie. It was unexpected and the way they interjected the “rules” was really neat. Having said that, I’m thinking that an hour and a half in Zombieland was enough. However, they decided to make a sequel and this movie was a little over the top. Was it funny? Yes. Was it good? I guess it was. It was not as standalone as some people make it out to be. I can understand that if you hadn’t seen the first Zombieland you would be confused as to what’s going on here.

Taking place 10 years after the first movie, Double Tap once again follows the adventures of Tallahassee, Columbus, and Wichita as they search for Little Rock. Little Rock has been seduced by Berkeley and taken to a compound where no weapons are allowed. How then they survive the Zombie Apocalypse is the crux of the movie.

The first movie had a great cameo by Bill Murray playing himself. This movie kind of ruined that cameo by bringing him back in a post credits scene that (spoiler alert) kind of shows that he was at the beginning of this Zombie outbreak.

All in all, this was an entertaining movie, and I’m glad I watched it at home instead of going to the theater to see it. If you’ve seen the first one, and enjoyed it, you should probably see this one. However, you should see the first one before watching this one as I’m not sure the humor would come through if this was the first one you saw.
